Engine trouble rarely fixes itself. A rough idle, warning light, oil leak, overheating issue, or loss of power usually means something inside the system needs attention now, not later. At Driven Auto Care, we carefully inspect engines, identify the root cause, and help drivers avoid costly repairs down the road.

Engine Diagnosis
WHAT IT COVERS: Testing engine performance, scanning trouble codes, checking ignition, fuel, air, timing, and related systems to identify the actual source of the problem.
Engine problems can point in a dozen directions, which is why diagnosis matters first. A check engine light does not automatically mean one failed part. It means the vehicle has seen a fault, and now the real work begins. We inspect engine operation, scan for stored codes, evaluate performance symptoms, and check the systems feeding the engine what it needs to run correctly. That includes spark, fuel delivery, airflow, timing signals, and fluid condition. Good diagnosis saves money by preventing parts replacements based on guesswork and helping us fix the issue at the source.

Head Gasket Replacement
WHAT IT COVERS: Removing failed sealing components between the engine block and cylinder head, inspecting for related damage, and restoring proper sealing between oil, coolant, and combustion areas.
A failing head gasket can turn into one of the most expensive engine repairs on the vehicle if left unchecked for too long. Once the seal between the block and cylinder head breaks down, coolant and oil can end up where they do not belong, and combustion pressure can start pushing into the cooling system. We inspect for overheating damage, confirm the failure, and determine whether the repair is limited to the gasket or if other engine surfaces need attention too. Catching this problem early gives you a much better chance of avoiding deeper engine damage and a much larger repair bill.

Timing Belt Replacement
WHAT IT COVERS: Replacing the timing belt and related wear items so the crankshaft and camshaft stay synchronized and the engine continues operating at the correct timing.
The timing belt is one of those parts that drivers do not think about until it becomes a problem. That is usually too late. This belt keeps internal engine timing in sync, and when it wears out or fails, the results can go from poor running to a no-start condition or even internal engine damage on interference engines. We replace timing belts on schedule and inspect related components while we are there. Staying ahead of this service is one of the smartest ways to avoid a sudden breakdown and protect the engine from a repair it never should have needed.

Oil Leak Repair
WHAT IT COVERS: Locating the exact source of leaking oil, then repairing the failed gasket, seal, or related component to restore proper lubrication control.
Oil leaks are messy, but the bigger concern is what happens when the engine keeps losing oil. AAA notes that low oil or low oil pressure can cause catastrophic engine damage if the warning is ignored. We start by tracing the leak to its true source, because oil can spread and make one failing gasket look like several problems at once. Whether the issue starts at a valve cover gasket, oil pan, timing cover, or another seal, the goal is the same: stop the leak before the engine runs low, overheats, or wears out from a lack of proper lubrication.

Tune-Up
WHAT IT COVERS: Replacing worn ignition and maintenance components, then restoring cleaner combustion, smoother running, and more dependable engine performance.
A tune-up is not just old-school maintenance. It is still one of the best ways to correct drivability issues tied to worn spark plugs, ignition components, and neglected engine service. If the engine is stumbling, idling roughly, or feeling lazy under acceleration, a tune-up may be part of the repair path. We look at the condition of the ignition system, service history, and overall performance symptoms before recommending what the vehicle actually needs. Done at the right time, this service helps restore smoother performance, better response, and more reliable daily driving.
