Dodge REPAIR
YOUR LOCAL Dodge REPAIR SHOP / TECHNICIANS / SPECIALISTS
Serving the East Bay Area Including Fremont, Milpitas, Warm Springs, Sunol & beyond

Dodge built its name on vehicles with attitude, and that attitude comes from powertrains that push performance limits in ways that conservative engineering avoids. The tradeoff shows up in your maintenance history. East Bay heat, 880 traffic, and the hills around Fremont grind on Dodge cooling systems and transmissions with every commute. Our Fremont shop diagnoses Dodge failures with engine-specific scan data and fixes what’s broken so you stop paying for the same symptom on repeat visits to other shops.

DODGE CHARGER
COMMON PROBLEMS: ZF 8HP Overheat, Coolant Crossover Corrosion, Sway Bar End Link Failure, Decoupler Pulley Failure, O2 Heater Circuit Fault
The ZF 8HP transmission in the Charger overheats in 880 traffic and triggers limp mode before the temperature gauge gives you any warning on the cluster. Coolant crossover tube corrosion on the 5.7L Hemi allows slow coolant loss from a spot that’s hard to see without lifting the vehicle and inspecting from underneath. Sway bar end links fail and produce a metallic rattle during lane changes. Alternator decoupler pulley failure throws a squeal from the belt area that sounds like a worn belt when the belt is fine. Oxygen sensor heater circuit faults trip a check engine light and affect fuel economy without changing how the engine feels during normal driving.

DODGE CHALLENGER
COMMON PROBLEMS: Input Shaft Bearing Noise, Hellcat Intercooler Pump, Pinion Bearing Preload Loss, Condenser Clog, Window Regulator Snap
Manual Challenger owners hear a whine under deceleration that disappears the moment the clutch pedal goes to the floor, and that sound is the input shaft bearing inside the transmission asking for attention. The 6.2L Hellcat intercooler pump circulates coolant through the supercharger heat exchanger, and pump failure lets charge air temperatures climb under sustained load. Differential pinion bearing preload loss creates a gear whine during acceleration that you feel through the driveline before you hear it in the cabin. AC condenser debris clog blocks refrigerant flow on the high side and shuts down cooling output. Power window regulator cables snap and drop the glass into the door panel without warning.

DODGE DURANGO
COMMON PROBLEMS: Oil Filter Housing Leak, Rear Blend Door Actuator, Control Arm Bushing Separation, Transfer Case Chain Wear, Liftgate Strut Failure
The 3.6L Pentastar oil filter housing gasket sends oil dripping onto the starter or exhaust depending on where the gasket separates, and the smell hits the cabin before you spot the leak. Rear HVAC blend door actuator failure cuts temperature control in the back seats, and passengers roast or freeze depending on where the actuator stalled. Front lower control arm bushing separation produces a clunk during braking and acceleration as the bushing allows the control arm to shift. AWD transfer case chain stretches from extended fluid intervals. Power liftgate struts lose gas charge and open the hatch at half speed.

DODGE JOURNEY
COMMON PROBLEMS: Solenoid Pack Failure, Valve Body Wear, Radiator Seam Crack, Steering Hose Leak, Wheel Bearing Failure
The Journey paired its 2.4L with a four-speed automatic and its 3.6L with a six-speed, and both gearboxes develop internal wear that shows up in how the transmission engages and shifts. Solenoid pack failure on the four-speed delays engagement from Park, and you’ll count a full second before the car moves. Valve body wear on the six-speed produces a harsh 3-4 upshift that bumps through the cabin. Radiators crack where the plastic end tank meets the aluminum core, and the seam fails from thermal cycling over years of East Bay commuting. Power steering pressure hose leak sprays fluid under the vehicle, and front wheel bearing failure from Fremont pothole impact shows up as a hum that tracks with vehicle speed.

DODGE GRAND CARAVAN
COMMON PROBLEMS: Valve Body Solenoid Failure, Sliding Door Cable Fatigue, Oil Cooler Line Corrosion, Spark Plug Tube Seal Leak, Strut Mount Clunk
Transmission solenoid failure inside the valve body delays the shift from Park to Drive, and you press the accelerator before the transmission wakes up and lurches forward. Sliding door cable fatigue causes the door to slow down, bind against the track, and eventually stop midway through its travel. Oil cooler lines corrode on higher-mileage Caravans and drip fluid from a spot that looks like the oil pan but isn’t. The 3.6L Pentastar spark plug tube seals leak oil into the plug wells and cause misfires that come and go with engine temperature. Front strut mount clunk on a loaded minivan comes from the mount plate bearing failing under the weight of every grocery run and carpool trip across the Tri-City area.

"They were very thorough, very patient, and their system of services with pictures included in it was very essential to the customer service experience. I also love that they offer a free Lyft ride and/or loaner car in case I need it."
Customer
"Went in for a battery installation. Even though they were super busy they still found time for me. I will be going back again when it’s time for my next oil change."
