Dodge Charger Repair

The Dodge Charger gives Fremont drivers big Hemi power or a smooth Pentastar V6. Both engines also bring known weak spots, from lifters to oil filter leaks. Owners bring us Chargers with ticks, stalls, or leaks. We know where these cars fail. Our technicians test before recommending parts, so you pay only for the actual fault.

Hemi Lifter and Camshaft Wear

The 5.7L Hemi uses roller lifters and a camshaft to open the valves. A lifter roller can seize and wear a camshaft lobe. Oil quality, lifter design, and mileage all influence how long the parts last. NHTSA complaints about 5.7L Hemi engines describe ticking, misfiring, and costly repairs following a failure.

A louder tick or a misfire can mean lifter damage. Early repair saves the camshaft. We test for a weak cylinder and inspect the lifters before we quote. Bring your Charger in at the first tick.

Broken Exhaust Manifold Bolts

The 5.7L Hemi runs hot, and the bolts holding each exhaust manifold can snap. Heat cycles stress the bolts until they fatigue and break. NHTSA complaints describe the exhaust leak and the tick it makes. A broken bolt lets exhaust escape at the cylinder head.

A ticking noise fading as the engine warms often points to a leak. Bolt extraction takes care to protect the cylinder head. We extract the broken bolts and install proper hardware. Schedule a visit when you first hear the tick.

Alternator Failure and Stalling

FCA recalled 2011 to 2014 Chargers with the 3.6L engine under NHTSA recall 14V-634. Chrysler traced the stalls to the 160-amp alternator on 3.6L engines. Thermal fatigue in the alternator diodes triggers failure. A dead alternator drains the battery and stalls the engine.

Watch for a battery light, dim headlights, or a sudden stall. A weak charge also strains the battery and starter. We test the charging system, check recall status, and install a sound alternator. Call us before you lose power on the freeway.

Pentastar Oil Filter Adapter Leaks

The 3.6L Pentastar mounts its oil filter on an adapter with a built-in oil cooler. Seals and housings leak with age. Chrysler revised the housing in 2014 and removed the internal bypass valve. FCA service bulletins cover adapter replacement and an O-ring kit for leaks between the adapter and the block.

Look for oil spots, a burning smell, or low oil between changes. Oil in the engine valley can hide a leak. We clean the area, locate the leak, and seal or replace the adapter. Bring your Charger in before low oil harms the engine.

Pentastar Rocker Arm Failure

Rocker arms and lifters open the Pentastar's valves. Lawsuit filings allege early failure in 2014 to 2020 Chargers, with metal debris entering the oil. Owners report ticking, misfiring, and loss of power.

A tick refusing to fade, a misfire code, or metal in the oil deserves attention. We scan for codes, inspect the oil, and check the valvetrain before we quote. Catching it early limits the damage to the valvetrain. Call us when your Charger starts to tick.
