BATTERY AND CHARGING-SYSTEM SERVICE

COMMON CONCERNS: Weak Starting, Charging Warnings, Repeated Battery Discharge.

Your BMW needs a replacement battery that matches its specification. On applicable models, it also needs registration with the battery-management system. Registration records the replacement so the charging strategy can account for a new battery. Changing battery type or capacity may require additional setup beyond recording a like-for-like replacement.

We check battery condition and charging operation when starting becomes weak. Repeated discharge can also come from unwanted electrical use while parked. Leaving that electrical draw unresolved can discharge the replacement battery as well. ELECTRIC WATER PUMP AND COOLING REPAIR

COMMON CONCERNS: Temperature Warnings, Coolant Loss, Cooling-System Faults.

Certain six-cylinder 5 Series engines use an electric coolant pump. It needs power and the correct control signal to circulate coolant. A supply fault can prevent a working pump from running, while an internally failed pump may receive both and still fail to respond. Those conditions lead to different repairs.

Our cooling inspection checks the electrical response and investigates any coolant loss. If the engine overheats, stop safely and switch it off, following your manual's instructions. Keep the cap closed while the system is hot to avoid burns from pressurized coolant. Arrange assistance when overheating or continued leakage prevents safe driving.

VALVE-COVER OIL LEAK REPAIR

COMMON CONCERNS: Wet Engine Surfaces, Oil Drips, Oil Loss.

A deteriorated valve-cover gasket can allow oil to escape from the upper engine and run down its exterior. The wet patch you see below may be some distance from that opening. Tracing fresh leakage upward helps locate the source before a lower seal is mistakenly blamed for the drip.

We check the cover as well as its gasket. Damage to the cover itself may require an assembly replacement, while a sound cover can need new sealing components. Cleaning old oil after the repair makes fresh leakage easier to detect. That final check helps distinguish remaining residue from a seal that still leaks.

SHOCK ABSORBER AND SUSPENSION SERVICE

COMMON CONCERNS: Repeated Bouncing, Fluid On Dampers, Unsettled Ride.

After a wheel crosses a bump, the spring compresses and rebounds. Shock absorbers control that movement so the body settles. A worn damper can let the car continue bouncing, and fluid leakage or damaged mounts may accompany the change. If the body keeps bouncing after a familiar bump, have the suspension checked.

During suspension service, we check dampers and their mounts alongside related components. Electronically controlled damping on equipped 5 Series models adds electrical checks. Replacement parts must match that system, with any required setup completed afterward. Identifying the installed suspension prevents a component intended for another arrangement from being recommended for your car.

ABS AND PARKING-BRAKE DIAGNOSIS

COMMON CONCERNS: ABS Warnings, Stability-Control Lights, Parking-Brake Faults.

Wheel-speed sensors supply information used by anti-lock braking and stability control. An interrupted signal can trigger warnings and affect those assistance functions. Damaged wiring or a poor connection can interrupt the signal even with a working sensor. The circuit needs checking before the sensor is selected for replacement.
