Audi’s A4 has been “discontinued,” but in name only. Audi is changing the way they name vehicles, and going forward the A4 as we know it will be produced along with the A5, and future A4s will be electric vehicles. While it’s interesting to know the future of the A4 name, there’s no denying the success the A4 has had as a midsize luxury vehicle over the years.

Carbon Buildup Robs Power
COMMON PROBLEMS: The A4’s engine is known to allow carbon to accumulate, limiting the flow of air and causing the vehicle to struggle.
If your A4 seems to have lost a bit of power, you’re seeing its fuel efficiency take a hit, or both, then there could be excess carbon built up in the intake system. This issue is known to occur in many year models of A4, and can be prevented by cleaning out the intake system. However, removing the intake manifold is a job for a professional. Loss of Oil
COMMON PROBLEMS: Like many other vehicles, the A4 can lose oil over time. However, some parts can fail prematurely and accelerate this issue.
Excessive use of oil is common in older vehicles which haven’t been well maintained, but many A4 owners are surprised when their newer cars start to leak or run through oil quickly. Oil loss isn’t a problem unique to the A4, but some components of the car do contribute to this issue. Modern Audis are renowned for their smooth ride and luxury feel behind the wheel. The suspension plays a major role in this feel due to its sophisticated design. However, the A4’s suspension puts a strain on the components used to stabilize the vehicle. We have seen many suspension components fail well before an A4 reaches high mileage, and replacing these parts can be a tedious and costly repair.
Computer and Sensor Problems
COMMON PROBLEMS: Sensors in the emissions system, transmission, parking brake, and entertainment screens can all cause issues in the A4.
Part of the reason the A4 has such a high end feel is due to the many electrical components of the vehicle.
