OIL LEAK REPAIR
YOUR LOCAL OIL LEAK REPAIR SHOP / TECHNICIANS / SPECIALISTS
Serving the East Bay Area Including San Ramon, Dublin, Danville, Blackhawk & beyond.

Oil leaks are sneaky. Sometimes it’s just a small spot on the driveway. Other times it’s oil burning on a hot engine, a low-oil warning light, or smoke coming from under the hood. No matter how it shows up, oil leaks should never be ignored. The key to proper repair is finding the exact source first, because “it’s leaking somewhere” isn’t a diagnosis. At Driven Auto Care of San Ramon, we don’t guess—we verify.
Modern engines contain multiple seals and gaskets, and airflow can spread oil far from the original leak. That’s why accurate diagnosis matters. Finding a trustworthy source allows repairs to be precise, effective, and cost-efficient.

Leak source diagnosis
COMMON PROBLEMS: Oil spots on the ground, burning oil smell, smoke from the engine bay, low oil level, oily residue, intermittent leaks
Before replacing any parts, we confirm the oil’s source. Some leaks occur only while driving, others appear after shutdown, and many spread across the engine, making the source hard to see. We clean, inspect, and test as needed to identify the actual failure point.
Once the source is confirmed, repairs are more accurate and far less likely to result in repeat visits.

Valve cover gasket leak repair
COMMON PROBLEMS: Oil smell, seepage near the top of the engine, smoke after driving, oil residue on engine components, recurring drips, pressure-related leaks
Valve cover gaskets are among the most common sources of leaks as engines age. Heat cycles and crankcase pressure eventually cause the gasket to harden and leak. We verify the leak, replace the gasket properly, and inspect related components that may be contributing to excess pressure or recurring seepage.

Oil pan / lower engine leak repair
COMMON PROBLEMS: Drips after parking, oil on the undercarriage, leaks worsening over time, road debris damage, low oil level, messy underside
Lower engine leaks can be misleading because airflow spreads oil across multiple surfaces. What looks like a major failure may originate from a single gasket or seal. We take the time to identify the trustworthy source and repair the correct component so you’re not paying twice for the same issue.

Front or rear primary seal leak repair
COMMON PROBLEMS: Oil between the engine and transmission, persistent low oil levels, leaks worsening at speed, significant drips, oil smell without a clear source, residue in the bellhousing area
Main seal leaks can start small and gradually worsen. Because repairs can be more involved, we confirm the failure before recommending service. If a main seal is leaking, we explain what’s involved, how severe the leak is, and whether repair makes sense now or later based on usage and oil loss.

Timing cover/seal leak repair
COMMON PROBLEMS: Oil on the front of the engine, seepage near the belt or chain area, recurring leaks, oily engine bay, slow, steady drips, oil smell when hot
Timing cover leaks often begin as slow seepage that creates a large mess over time. We confirm the source, address contributing factors, and reseal the system correctly to prevent ongoing leaks and oil contamination.
